ABIAL Welcome Back Cocktail
To provide an opportunity for our members and students to meet in a more casual atmosphere after the summer holidays, we are delighted to invite you to our Welcome Back Cocktail at the bar “Le Scheffer” on Thursday September 21,2017 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Please also invite any newcomers to Luxembourg who you think would be interested in attending and networking with other members.

Accounting Professional Practice Update
ABIAL is very pleased to invite you to its annual accounting Professional Practice Update.
The theme of this year’s conference is on the subject of Valuations, and a number of interesting speakers are invited to address the issues of valuing a variety of asset classes and the implications of these issues on accounts and disclosures.
Participation Fee: EUR 30 for members and students, EUR 40 for guests; Attendees at the Welcome Back Cocktail in September can claim a EUR 10 deduction
ABIAL ANNUAL TAX EVENING
ABIAL invites you to spend an evening with two experts, Séverine Moca and David Roach from PwC Luxembourg, who will explain and give their views on “It gets personal – crossing boundaries!” as well as on “Another year in BEPS-land” that are important both for Luxembourg – and for many people who work here.

ABIAL Public Sector Accounting Evening
ABIAL invites you to an evening at the Cercle Munster, with two international experts on public sector accounting, being Ian Carruthers, chair of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) since January 2016 and Thomas Müller-Marqués Berger, Global Head of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSASs) for Ernst & Young GmbH, as well as Chair of the Public Sector Group of Accountancy Europe. They will discuss the global take up of accruals accounting in government accounts, where Europe stands, and what this means for accountants in both public sector and private firms.

ABIAL 2018 Professional Practice Update
We have the pleasure in inviting you to our Professional Practice Update, which will take place at the Chamber of Commerce (7, rue Alcide de Gasperi) on Tuesday, April 24 2018 from 8:30 am to 2 pm.
ABIAL has created an extensive program which includes Camille Thommes from ALFI, who will speak on the state of the Luxembourg investment fund industry, an updates on Legal and Regulatory aspects, the evolution of technology as well as a presentation of the Irish Institute’s President.

ABIAL Evening Tax Event
ABIAL has pleasure in inviting you to join a discussion on “Taxation in 2018 and beyond – challenges and opportunities”. Our main speaker is Nick Parker, President of ICAEW, and Tax Partner at RSM (UK).
ABIAL is delighted to welcome Nick Parker, President of ICAEW, to speak on these topics. Our talk will take the form of a debate, moderated by ABIAL Committee member and PwC Luxembourg’s Tax Technical Expert, David Roach. The discussion will last beyond an hour, and then follow with an opportunity for our audience to raise more points.

ABIAL AGM
ABIAL is pleased to invite you to its Annual General Meeting on 14 June 2018 as from 7 pm at Golf-Club Grand-Ducal (1, route de Trèves, L-2633 SENNINGERBERG).
The event will include short presentations made by our ABIAL Chairman, Treasurer and Honorary Auditor. The floor will then be opened to the members to raise any questions pertaining to the Association.
The event will also include a light dinner (with wine). All, with compliments of the ABIAL committee!
Fee: The event is EUR 20 for the Members of the Association.

Abial Professional Practice Update

Risk is part of our everyday professional lives, and consciously or unconsciously we asses and implement strategies to address risks whether real or perceived. For this PPU we have invited a number of practitioners from different organisations and backgrounds to talk about their views on risk.
